The 12-inch MacBook is Apple's thinnest and lightest MacBook ever at just 2 pounds and 13.1 mm thin. The 12-inch MacBook (Early 2016) was introduced on April 19th, 2016 as a performance update to the inaugural series of 12-inch MacBooks introduced a year earlier. The new models features sixth-generation dual-core Intel Core M processors up to 1.3 GHz, with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.1 GHz, and faster 1866 MHz memory. New Intel HD Graphics 515 deliver up to 25 percent faster graphics performance than first-generation 12-inch MacBook (Early 2015) models, in addition to faster PCIe-based flash storage. Apple also says the new 12-inch MacBooks will give you an additional hour of web browsing, for a total of 10 hours (11 if you're watching iTunes movie playback). Each sports the same all-metal unibody enclosure as the inaugural 12-inch MacBooks and is available in four aluminum finishes -- gold, silver, space gray, and for the first time on a Mac, an eye-catching rose gold. All 12-inch MacBooks feature a 12-inch Retina display, built-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, highly responsive full-size keyboard based on Apple's second-generation butterfly mechanism, Force Touch trackpad, and versatile USB-C port. With no moving parts or vents, the 12" MacBook is entirely fanless for silent, efficient performance.
