The largest of Apple's all-in-one desktops, the mid-2020 27-inch iMac puts a massive 5K Retina display on your desk. Perfect for photo and video editors, as well as users who need the most Mac screen real estate available, pricing starts at $1,799.
Apple's Retina display is the star of the show and for 2020 the company is introducing a new anti-glare nano-texture glass configuration first seen on the Pro Display XDR. With processor choices topping out at a 10‑core Intel Core i9 processor, this iMac is no slouch when it comes to crunching numbers. Available CPU and GPU options tear through high-resolution render computations, layered Logic tracks and other processor-intensive tasks.
If one 27-inch display isn't enough, iMac can drive up to two additional 6K screens when configured with AMD's Radeon Pro 5700 or Radeon Pro 5700 XT.
AppleInsider's 27-inch iMac Price Guide is the place to find the best deals on all available configurations. Buyers in qualifying states can enjoy a sales tax refund when purchasing with the B&H Payboo Card, while Adorama is running a similar promotion that nets shoppers a 5% discount with the Adorama Edge Card.
Apple has updated the 27-inch iMac, and while the exterior continues to look the same, this is upgrade is much more than a paltry processor bump - even if that processor remains an Intel one instead of moving to Apple Silicon just yet.
